In my younger years as a multi-sport athlete and dancer, the constant physical activity helped me keep my weight well within the healthy range. An unfortunate skiing accident in 2001 left me sedentary and unable to work for many months. During this time, my numerous unhealthy lifestyle choices caused me to pack on the pounds. By the end of 2002, I had ballooned up to 160 pounds. After seeing a picture of me at that weight, I realized that something had to be done. With my family's medical history, this was not only an appearance issue, but it was now becoming a severe health issue as well. In January of 2003, I met an amazing person that would help me reach all of my weight loss goals, Master Trainer Darryl Perrilloux Jr. 

At that time, the club was offering 2 free personal training sessions. I was reluctant to use the sessions because I knew how expensive the real ones were. Plus, I had been lifting weights for years and I didn't feel that a trainer would benefit me. I broke down and finally decided to give it a try. After the first session, I realized Darryl would give me the motivation and guidance I needed to help me get my weight back on track. Twice a week we focused on weight training and stability work. The other days were for cardio and recovery time. Darryl also had me focus on improving my eating habits as well. Within months, I was down to 127 lbs and a size 4. 

Over the next few years, my weight and health fluctuated due to a stressful work environment. Darryl kept me motivated throughout all of those ups and downs. As my goals and nutritional needs changed over the years, so have my workouts. The constant changing of the workouts had kept my body from hitting the usual weight loss plateau. Four years and almost 50 pounds lighter, I am still training with him. 

In February 2007, I decided to try out for the Houston Texans Cheerleading squad. Since we only had a couple of months to prepare for the April 21st tryouts, it was crunch time. We had to focus on improving my flexibility and my overall physique. By the time tryouts arrived, I was down to 120 lbs and a size 2. Even though I was much older than most of the ladies trying out, I was in much better shape than most of them. I didn't make the squad, but I have received numerous modeling offers since. Thanks to Darryl I am healthier on the inside and out.
